Favourite Perfume of the week #2 - Sugarbabes Touch

Hey everyone,

So I've been really busy recently so I haven't really had the time to sit down and write a blog post for you all to read but instead of giving you nothing, I thought that I'd do a short post telling you what my favourite perfume this week has been.

So let's get into it....

So this week I've been really enjoying a fruity and light perfume which is the 'Sugarbabes'. This perfume is very sweet which I love. I also have another Sugarbabes perfume in a pink bottle called 'Touch'.

I looked up the notes online so if any of you are interested about what notes are in it then here they are:

  • Rose
  • Violet
  • Cranberry
  • Lychee
  • Musk
  • Patchouli
Unlike my previous favourite perfume of the week which you can read here, this bottle's packaging is much less detailed and more simple. I think that the Anna Sui perfume was a slightly more pricey perfume whereas this one isn't but I like to use them both a lot. The packaging is just a simple round silver bottle with a sphere lid with the brand printed onto it in black. Like I said before this perfume isn't that expensive but I believe the smell is very good and the amount you get is such good value.

The perfume bottle size that I have is the 100ml but I have used so much of the perfume that I will be needing a new one soon!.... That is if they still sell this because I have a funny feeling that it might be limited edition or discontinued.

One small bad point about this perfume however is that it doesn't last very long throughout the day. I think that because it is a lighter perfume it doesn't last longer then something with stronger notes. But in the future I would like to get a small perfume bottle so that I can transfer small amounts of perfume in it to carry around with me so that I can spray every now and then so that it lasts for longer.

However, if you are looking to get something fruity and light and don't want to spend too much then this perfume is great and I would definitely recommend it!

I hope that you enjoyed reading this post! I'm sorry that I haven't posted as often but I do try my best x

ELF 50% off Cosmetics haul

Hey everyone,

So around about last week, ELF had a 50% off discount on all of their products if you ordered online so I that I wouldn't miss the opportunity so I brought lots of stuff from their website :) I was so excited to find out that ELF had 50% off of your whole order because it meant that I could get double the amount of stuff for the same price that I was willing to spend.... In my case, I got £40 worth of makeup for about £23 (including p&p). I've never ordered anything from ELF before but I know that a lot of people use their products because they are very affordable and very close dupes to Nars products. I have to say that I am really pleased with all that I got and I would definitely order from them again!

Lets get into showing you what I got... (I already took everything out of its packaging)

p.s. I mention the full prices and not what they were when everything was half off :)

So this is all what I got:

So this first thing i'll talk about is the ELF High Definition Powder in Shimmer = £6

I spotted this on the website and it looked very appealing to me and I love shimmer so I thought that I'd have a go with wearing it and i'm so glad that I got it! It sets my makeup and prevents it from creasing but also gives my face a little shimmer/sheen that is visible in the light. It doesn't look cakey at all when it is on my skin and it was very good value for money because you get a large pot of it for £6 whereas most over powders are kind of compact and you don't get as much product but still have to pay the full price for it.

Anyway..lets stop rambling on about this product and move to the next thing which I brought...

I've heard about this being talked about before and it being said that it is very similar to the Sleek Contour Kit but it is the lightest colour which is thought to be very similar but I brought the Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzer in the colour Antigua which is much darker than the Sleek Contour Kit. I am very impressed with this product, it is so pigmented and looks very natural on my skin when it is blended in, especially the bronzer. Whereas with some other bronzers, on my skin they are too warm and orangey... and it was only £3.75!

The next thing that I brought was one of their All Over Colour Sticks in the colour Persimmon.

This product is great if you are looking for something cheap that gives a good, lasting sheen that can have multiple uses. This all over stick can be used on eyes, lips and cheeks. I like to use it as a highlight on my cheek bones because when I move my head in the light, you can see the slight sheen and gives my skin a sort of glow.

I have to say that although this product looks very pretty, the actual product in the tube is quite hard at first but after a while if you keep using it, it will soften into a better shape which is easier to apply to your skin. But for only £1.50, I shouldn't really be complaining.

Onto the next product...

I have been needing an eyeshadow primer for a long time now but I didn't really want to spend a lot of money buying one if I start to use it and it isn't that good. So I brought their Eyelid Primer in Pearl...at first I was going to get it in Sheer but due to everyone going crazy and buying stuff from ELF, they went out of stock so I chose this colour but I'm so glad it did happen because this primer in Pearl is so much prettier than the sheer would've been! It has tiny sparkles in it so when it is blended out you can see tiny twinkles.

I know I haven't really said any bad things about any of the products so far but they really are very good and I can't find any flaws in them. And this product is very good for £1.50 and it stops my eyeshadow from creasing and it doesn't wear off through the whole day that is unless I rub my eyes.

So the next 3 things are all Single Eyeshadows and I brought them in the shades:
Raspberry Truffle, Oatmeal and Sunset = £3.38 each

Oatmeal
Sunset

Raspberry Truffle
If you can't tell by now... I love shimmer haha :)
These eyeshadows are also very pigmented and I love using them! You don't have to pick up much product and the pay off is so good! I've worn these eyeshadows a few times now and they blend out very easily and aren't at all heavy on my skin. They all have slight shimmers in them which I love and they go very well now we are getting closer to winter especially the Raspberry Truffle because I love wearing darker colours now.

Next product...

The next product is the Studio Glitter Gloss in Glam Guava = £3.75 each

I brought 2 of these one for myself and another one for my mum: scentsandsparkles.blogspot.com

We both love glitter so this gloss was ideal and she didn't know that she was getting it and loves it! It does feel a little bit sticky but isn't something to put anyone off of buying it. It is probably one of the prettiest and sparkliest (not even a word haha) lip glosses I have ever owned!

Finally, the last 4 products that I brought were all Jumbo Lip Gloss Sticks = £2.50 each

I brought the colours: Movie Star, Flirty & Girly, Pink Umbrellas and Tiki Torches.

L-R Pink Umbrellas, Flirty & Girly and Movie Star

(I gave my mum Tiki Torches as a present as well :))

I was expecting these to be very glossy but depending on the colour that you chose, they are either glossy and glittery or matte but they are all moisturising and not drying at all. Tiki Torches and Flirty & Girly were very shiny and glittery whereas Pink Umbrellas and Movie Star were slightly matte.

I hope that you all enjoyed reading this post... sorry that it was very long.

NOTD #4

Hey everyone,

So I wasn't going to do a post today but I thought that I'd make one anyway to keep up with uploading daily...so in today's post, I'm going to show you my nails I painted for the week and what I used.

Lets get into it...

So this is what my nails looked like when they were done:

I always apply a base coat before any nail varnish, whatever the colour is so that it doesn't stain. I use OPI Nail Envy which gives a nice shine to your nails and also keeps then healthy because it 'feeds' them.

Then I applied 2 coats of the Kate Spade by Nails Inc nail polish in Uptown Glamour which is a lovely, metallic gold/brown colour.

Then, I applied 2 coats of the OPI nail lacquer in Save Me to my ring finger over the top of the metallic gold/brown.

After all of this, I then applied the Seche Vite quick drying top coat to make the nail varnish last longer and to make them more shiny.

Thank you for reading, I hope that you enjoyed reading this post! :)

l'Oréal Caresse lipstick in 07 Cheeky Magenta

Hey Everyone,

So today I though i'd create a blog post on the l'Oréal Caresse lipstick in 07 Cheeky Magenta, I  brought this product a little while ago now and I love it! So I thought i'd make a post on it to show you all and tell you my opinion on it.

Here are some pictures of swatches and the packaging:

I am so pleased that I brought this product! I love it! I brought for £8.19 from boots and I've also seen that you can buy it online from many places as well. This lipstick is very good value and doesn't dry out my lips because it is shiny so it is very moisturising. I recommend this product if you're looking for something subtle and girly. When I was looking around, I also found that they also sell this lipstick in many other colours to suit your taste. I have also brought another colour since that I would love to share with you in another blog post.

Thank you for reading, I hope that you enjoyed this short little post...

How much is your face worth?

Hey everyone,

So I saw this post on this blog the other day and I thought that it was a good blog post idea...

http://apinchofshaz.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/how-much-is-your-face-worth.html

So you basically have to add up the makeup which you are wearing on your face at the moment and see how much it all comes to and that will be the how much your face is worth. So lets get into it...

Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream = £27.50
Maybelline Age Rewind concealer = £7.99
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder = £3.99
Benefit Creasless Cream Shadow in Bikini-tini = £15.50
Collection work the colour solo eye shadow in Rosy Gold = £2.19
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof eye liner in Nude = £3.99
Sleek eye shadow limited edition sparkle palette = £7.99
Sleek face contour kit = £6.49
Rimmel blush in Santa Rosa = £4.00
MUA undress me highlighter = £3.00
W7 77 eye shadow palette = £14.00
Bourjois Liner Feutre in Ultra Black = £6.99
Lancôme Mascara = £0.00 = freebie :)
Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch = £2.99
Mac Sheen Supreme lipstick in Royal Azalea = £15.50

Grand Total = £122.12

Wow... I didn't expect it to be this much! I don't use that many high end products so I'm very surprised that all of these drugstore products added up to something that big.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and I'd love to see how much your face is worth haha :)

P.S. I hope that you like that I'm trying to post more often... I feel that I'm finally getting into the routine of writing more posts x

Favourite Perfume of the Week #1 - Anna Sui, Sui Dreams ❤

Hey everyone,

So I thought that i'd start a new thing where I tell you every week what perfume I have been loving and wearing the most. So my favourite perfume this week is actually quite an old perfume launched back in 2000. I didn't have it then because I would've been about 2 haha but my mum was there to get it when it was released and wore it for a long time. About a year or two ago, my mum introduced me to her one and I was wearing that for a long time but then for my birthday... I was brought a brand new bottle for myself and I am so glad that I have found it because it has become one of my most used perfumes.

I love to wear a lot of sweet, fruity and slightly floral perfumes because they tend to be not as heavy as other types of perfume like woody perfumes. However, I do tend to sometimes wear heavier fragrances when I feel in the mood for them.

This Anna Sui perfume smells very fruity, slightly floral and slightly oriental. I looked up the notes online and some were floral and some were fruity and then there were also the base notes...so let me tell you what they were:

Floral:

  • Freesia
  • Chinese peony
  • Rose
  • Bergamot

Fruity:
  • Nectarine
  • Mandarin
  • Bitter Orange

Base Notes:
  • Nutmeg
  • Sandalwood
  • Musk
  • Tahitian Vanilla
  • Cedar
  • Anise

When I spray this perfume. it smells very fruity on my skin and slightly spicy. I love to wear this because I feel it is very feminine and not too heavy.

On top of it smelling lovely, the packaging is also very appealing... the liquid is dyed a bright light blue colour which stands out and the metal details also have pretty floral designs embossed onto it as you can see in the pictures above.

I would definitely recommend this perfume if you love floral and oriental perfumes.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and would like to see more... check out my links below.

I ♥ Drugstore Makeup Tag

Hey everyone,

So I saw Gabriella (velvetgh0st on youtube) do this tag recently :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=By7zne-U_k0

So I thought that I'd have a go at answering the questions. I'm not sure if there are any other versions of this tag or if there are different questions but these are the ones which she had answered in her video.

So lets get into it.....

Question 1.

What is your favourite drugstore make-up brand overall?

There are a few drugstore make-up brands that I like to buy from and I used to get a lot from Revlon especially there Lip butters but lately,  I tend to buy from Rimmel and Maybelline. So I'd have to say that overall, my favourite drugstore make-up brand is Maybelline. Their colour tattoos are beautiful and I love the baby lips.

Question 2.

What are your favourite face/cheek/ lip products?

I have to say that one of my favourite face products has to be the Maybelline Anti-Age The Eraser Eye concealer, which I mentioned in my August Favourites a few months ago. Read here. I use this product everyday and it gives such good coverage to my under eye circles and any little blemishes that you'd like to cover up.

To go with this concealer, I have another drugstore favourite and it is the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. I use this everyday on top of my concealer to prevent it from creasing and it also helps to make my make-up stay on for longer and doesn't feel heavy or caked at all and is such a bargain.

My favourite drugstore cheek product has to be the Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in Santa Rose. This blush is so pretty and natural on my skin and gives my skin a slight rose tint.

I have many, many favourite lip products from drugstores because I tend to buy drugstore lip products rather than high end because they are still of such good quality from drugstore brands. However, some of my favourite lip products are lipsticks, like the Revlon Lip Butters.

But recently, in the fall I like to wear darker colours and in my recent blog post about Autumn/fall lipsticks, read here, I showed the Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Matte Lipsticks. These have to be some of my favourite lipsticks that I've owned and last for a long time on my lips as said in the name and they are also very matte which I tend to opt for in a lipstick rather than it having a sheen.

My final favourite lip products have to be the Maybelline Baby Lips. I know many people have mentioned these multiple times before but they really are such a good, affordable product.

Question no.3

What is your least favourite drugstore makeup product?

There really aren't many products that I don't like but if I had to name one it would have to be the Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara. I brought this mascara at the time when it was very popular but after a short time, it dried up and would work as well and I felt that it didn't coat my eyelashes very well.

Question no.4

What is your biggest makeup bargain?

I have to say that my biggest makeup bargain was the MUA Undress Me Highlighter which I brought for only £3 from superdrugs. This highlighter is so pigmented for such a cheap price and is such a pretty colour. I'd have to say overall, all of the MUA makeup is such a great bargain at such a low price but the quality of the makeup is very good and highly pigmented.

Question no.5

What is your favourite underdog product (something that gets overlooked)?

I'm not totally sure what this means but I love the sleek eye shadow palettes! They are so pigmented and very affordable.

Question no.6

A drugstore product that is overpriced?

I can't think of an individual product that is overpriced but I think that some types of drugstore products are overpriced like some facial moisturisers and some cleansers.

Question no.7

Show your best drugstore dupes...

Well, I only found one close dupe in my makeup collection and this drugstore lipstick is very similar but isn't as matte. The high end lipstick is the Mac Riri Woo lipstick which I featured in my Autumn/Fall Lipsticks post and the drugstore dupe if the Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in 111 Kiss of Life.

These two lipsticks are very similar but I think the Rimmel lipstick is slightly more orange.

Question no.8

A drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?

I think that the Maybelline mascaras weren't worth the hype, I brought the Colossal Cat Eyes mascara by Maybelline at the time because they were very hyped about but when I was using it, it dried up very quickly and wasn't very useful anymore. However, the packaging was cute though haha :)
