Top 5 Moisturisers for Winter ❄⛄❄

Hey everyone,

In today's post I thought that I'd show you some of my favourite moisturisers to use during the winter as our skin can get very dry and may be in need of some TLC ♥

I recommend buying sets or asking for sets that contain miniature size moisturisers/lotions as they're really good for travelling and popping into your handbag :D (maybe you can add some of these onto your Christmas wishlist or buy them as a gift for yourself as a little treat)

Hope you enjoy...lets get into it...♥

Number 1.

This first moisturiser I have been using to prevent my skin becoming very dry and I've been loving it...it's Clinique's 'dramatically different moisturising lotion'

I apply this moisturiser all over my face after taking excess makeup off and is very lightweight and not at all greasy or hard to sink in.

I would also say this moisturiser is good if you don't like scented lotions as it's scent is very subtle and hardly noticeable.

❄❄❄

Number 2.

This next moisturiser I have also been using all over my face after and before applying makeup.... Benefit's 'Total Moisture facial cream'

The difference between this moisturiser and the one mentioned above is that this is more of a deeper moisturiser that I tend to you if the day is dryer or colder. Whereas the Clinique one above is lighter and I tend to use it everyday.

I own 2 of Benefit's moisturisers and they both have a scent to them but after a while it does fade away which is good although I do love the smell and wouldn't mind if it lasted longer.

❄❄❄

Number 3.

I have been borrowing this lotion from my mum and have been loving it! It's Neom's 'Refresh Organic Hand Lotion'.

If you don't like hand lotions with scents then I wouldn't opt for this lotion as it has an obvious organic smell of 'Sicilian lemon and Fresh Basil', but I love this smell as its very natural and refreshing. It is a medium consistency but sinks into the skin very well and is good to have sat at your dressing table or desk to apply throughout the day :)

❄❄❄

Number 4.

Another one of my favourite moisturisers is Soap and Glory's 'The Righteous Butter'. Soap and Glory has such a unique smell that is very fresh.

This lotion is one of the thicker lotions that I tend to use for both my body and hands but this small travel size pot stays in my bag when I'm out and about so I can reapply.

❄❄❄

Number 5.

Finally....number 5, this last 'moisturiser' is a moisturiser in a different sense as it removes the dry skin when your scrub it onto your skin and wash it off. From a brand I wouldn't tend to buy beauty products from...Marks & Spencer..their 'Pomegranate Hand & Body Polish'.

This 'polish' came in a set of four shower gels and other bits as a present a few birthdays ago and I just recently I rediscovered it in the bottom of my wardrobe and I love it again.

It leaves a very soft feel to your skin and has a very subtle scent which isn't at all overwhelming!

❄❄❄

I hope you have enjoyed this blog post ...check out my links below if you'd like to keep up with what I'm doing and comment telling me what your favourite moisturisers are in the winter and whether you like the sound of any of these above :D

NOTD #6 --- Halloween inspired

Hey everyone,

Halloween has been and gone but I thought I'd share with you what I painted and decorated my nails with .... Since halloween counts as an excuse to wear dark vampy colours including lots of black, red and purple, I thought that I'd paint my nails with a deep red and add some black accents.

(of course before anything I always paint my nails with a coat of Nail Envy to prevent staining)

Then.. I painted my nails with the actual colour I would like to use which was this 'Rimmel London Lycra nail polish in 391 Celebrity bash:

♥ ♥ ♥

Then I added some black beads to each cuticle:

(they're all flatback and very easy to apply using tweasers)

♥ ♥ ♥

And to seal it all in I used another layer of OPI Nail Envy and sped up the drying process using my OPI drip drying drops:

And then this is what my nails looked like:

(excuse the bit of nail varnish on my skin, this was taken straight after painting them)

I hope you enjoyed this blog post...as always I really enjoyed writing it and making it...stay tuned for the next post and check out my links below:

Makeup Social App

Hey everyone,

So I was contacted recently by the makers of the app 'Makeup Social' to do a review on their new iphone app. I had a look at it and tried it out and I'm going to share with you my 100% honest opinion about the app and if its easy to use, runs smoothly and what features I like and don't like about it :D

Unfortunately I don't have an iPhone, I have an Android, so I will be reviewing the app based on using it on my iPad, however they will be launching the Android version very soon!

So the app is free from the itunes app store and it downloaded very quickly--- so that's a good start already!

This is what the icon looks like and what it looks like when you start the app:

Then you can sign in if you have an account already from using their website or register which is what I did, to register you have to answer some simple questions about your eyes, skin, hair etc. and enter your birth date and gender.

After you have done this, you can use the app and it should look like this:

At the bottom you can see 5 different tabs, at the moment its on Feed where you can see what the people you are following are posting or what the latest posts are from everyone on the app.

The next tab along is the Discover tab where you can look at the most popular posts including trending products people are talking about, trending photos and trending posts that people have written:

The next tab Add is where you can post pictures, written posts and reviews:

You can also connect Makeup Social to your facebook and twitter so that when you post it also posts to your facebook and twitter account.

Then the next tab over to the right is where you can write and view people's reviews on any product you like:

Then the last tab to the far right is where you can view your profile and notifications and also edit your profile:

So at first it will just have the questions you have answered and the username you have chosen so you can then customise it by changing your profile picture, adding some infomation about you and a link to your blog or instagram e.g. then click save :D

After this is all setup which takes no time at all literally like 5 minutes you can start posting on the app and reading and looking at what other people are posting!

Above you can see I was commenting on peoples posts, adding reviews and liking pictures by double tapping.

Problems

Overall the app is very quick and easy to use and is such a great idea for the beauty community. However, I did have a couple problems:

  • When posting one of my reviews it posted twice and I didn't know how to delete it..eventually I swiped left and figured you could delete it that way.
  • Also, when closing and opening the app again I had to click login again whereas I would prefer if it logged in automatically.

Suggestion

I also had one suggestion, this may already be included on the app and I have just not seen it yet but it is something I would like to address:

  • There could be a walkthrough at the start of opening the app so that new users can figure out how to do stuff like delete posts etc. (and an option to skip this for those who want to )

Overall I really enjoy using this app and its great for interacting with the beauty community and loads quickly and doesn't take up much room on your device!

I hope you enjoyed this post, it's something very different to what I normally do but was enjoyable to share my opinion with everyone.

See you in my next post :D (exciting)

DIY ¦ Mason Jar Lights ♡

Hey everyone,

So I'm back with something different today...something that i've never done before on my blog...a DIY!!! I'm so excited to be posting this...many of you may have seen this idea around before. Its a very quick and affordable DIY to add something different to any room you want.

What you will need:

♡ Any jar lying around -  can be an old jam jar or a jar to hold sweets or you can   buy one from a shop

♥ ♥ ♥

♡ Fairy lights - I already had these from when I got them from Ikea last year, they don't have to be battery operated. If you have got some left over Christmas lights you could also use them.

♥ ♥ ♥

Steps:

1) Firstly, you need to take the jar that you would like to use and take the lid of and clean it out if it is dirty. My jar had chocolates in it so I gave it a quick rinse in the sink. (If there is a label on your jar don't forget to peel that off)

2) Then, making sure the jar is completely dry and the lid off because you won't need that any more, take any lights you would like to use and arrange them in the jar so that they fill up the whole of the jar and are spread out.

3) All that's left to do is find somewhere to put your jar of lights and place it down.

I placed mine down in one of the holes in my cube unit in my bedroom and arranged the holes similar to these pictures which I found on pinterest:

I hope you enjoyed this very quick and simple DIY...I know its not very hard but I thought it was a good idea to share with you that won't break the bank :D

Check out my pinterest where I have lots more DIY ideas and home decor inspiration:

P.S. Let me know what you think about this idea...do you like it and what quick DIY's have you done to spruce up an area in your room?

NOTD #5 - OPI Alcatraz...Rocks Liquid sand ♥

Hey everyone,

Today I thought I would write a post and show you how my nails are painted and what I used. I haven't painted my nails in such a long time but painted them around about last week and I'm very impressed by the longevity of my nail varnish and how they haven't chipped yet which they usually do. I fancied wearing a darker nail polish for a change even though we are in the summer and dark nails aren't that popular right now.

(pictures above were found on google)

♥ ♥ ♥

Below are what my nails look like after about a weeks wear.

♥ ♥ ♥

I have quite a few nail varnishes that I don't use that often... this being one of them. I honestly don't know why I don't use it more often because I love the colour and the texture is very unique.

If you were wondering... I got this as a Christmas present and it's from OPI... called 'Alcatraz...Rocks', its one of their liquid sand nail polishes.

The texture of it once it has dried definitely feels although its been dipped in sand and is very rocky. I personally love this texture but if you didn't like it you could add a top coat which would even out this texture and create a smooth finish.

The colour of the nail varnish is also very pretty because in the sunlight as you can see to the left, their are tiny shimmers of blue and purple that look very pretty and make the dark nail varnish feminine. The colour itself is a mixture of many shimmers including gold, green and dark blue glitters.

As mentioned before, this nail polish has really impressed me on how well it has lasted and not chipped. This may be due to it being a thicker texture but I would've thought that with bumps it would've chipped easier but that wasn't the case.

I've looked up this nail polish online and you can get it for about £7 - £8 depending on which shop you are buying it from.

♥ ♥ ♥

Before I applied my nail varnish, I coated my nails with another nail polish from OPI which I have used for so long... their 'Nail Envy'.

Nail Envy acts as a food for your nails and hydrates them so any damage caused by removing old nail varnish is made healthy again. It also prevents nail polishes from staining and creates a smooth canvas for you to apply your colour on.

I've repurchased Nail Envy many times before and I got this one to the right from Christmas and it came in a set of three polishes. But you can buy it separately online or in shops for about £11 - £12.

If you wanted to prevent nail polishes staining you could use any top coat or base coat that you have... it doesn't have to be expensive.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post... I'm really enjoying writing blog posts recently and changing the way I lay stuff out. Tweet me a picture of your nails at @fgeorgiaa or tell me below what you have on your nails at the moment...I would love to find some more nail polishes xx

Back from little break ♥ Pastel Trends

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the very long break I've kind of enjoyed having some free time and I had to revise for science exams :( Hopefully I'll be getting back into the swing of things and be posting more frequently now x I've kind of hit a wall trying to think of ideas for blog posts and needed some inspiration so please let me know how you get your inspiration and if there are any new tags going around that would be fun to do... anyway lets get into the main chunk of this blog post...

So today's post as you can see from above and in the title is about 'PASTEL TRENDS'... so you've all probably already heard or seen lots of pastel clothing around and about but I though that I'd do a bit of researching about to find some pastel clothing that I think is good value for money or very pretty!

One of the main shops that I like to look in for good value for money is 'New Look'... they sell a lot of up to date clothes for cheaper prices than more pricier shops such as 'Topshop' (although if you were willing to pay a bit more they do sell some gorgeous play suits and dresses that I would love to get my hands on :D). Anyway, I'm getting a bit distracted hehe... one of the first items from New Look that I spotted was this Short Sleeve Blue Cropped Jumper:

I thought this jumper would be a great piece that could go with anything from high waisted jeans and skirts to a more formal short skirt as demonstrated on the model in the picture to the left.

Also... this jumper is only £8 in the sale... so I'd grab one whilst you can ♥

♥ ♥ ♥

This next item from New Look is also in the sale and may not be quite in the pastel trend but I though I'd include it anyway and it is something that would work with the jumper above if you wanted to dress up a bit.. this a-line mini skirt:

I would pair this skirt with something plain on top like the jumper above or the vest to the right... also, I would try to match what ever I was wearing on top to one of the colours in the skirt e.g. peach or lilac... I would also do the same with my lipstick.

Makeup example that I'd pair with it: (found on pinterest)

This skirt is only £7 in the sale!

♥ ♥ ♥

This last item from New Look is also in the sale and its a basic white jumper that has a bit of detailing on so you feel although you're putting in some effort hehe and its very girly.. its this white 1/2 sleeve jumper with floral embroidery:

I feel like the cut of this jumper is a very love/hate cut... some people might love it but some people might hate it. I personally love it especially when its tucked in as shown on the model in the left picture.

I would pair this with something high waisted... e.g. a skirt, jeans, shorts

£8 --- in the sale!

♥ ♥ ♥

Whilst browsing online I also found some great shops for dainty jewellery to pair with pastel items and one of the main shops was 'Pastelclouds'.... I've never heard of this shop before but they seem very affordable and sell some really cute stuff like these below:

Link to Delicate Heart bracelet/necklace: click here

Link to Pineapple necklace/bracelet: click here

All of these bits of jewellery would be perfect to pair with the outfits and items above!

Also on ASOS... I found some pretty earring that would match perfectly!
